You can easily adjust the height of the desk between 27½" and 47¼" by just cranking the handle and get the best position for both sitting and standing.
Changing positions between sitting and standing helps you move your body so you both feel and work better.
The neutral beige color is kind to your eyes when you work on your laptop since it makes the contrasts softer between the screen and tabletop.
Comfortable for left- and right-handers, as the crank handle can be mounted on the left or right side.
The crank handle slides in under the table top when not in use for a clean, uncluttered look.
Adjustable feet make the desk stand steady also on uneven floors.
Changing positions from sitting to standing is good for you, and the crank handle allows you to work your arms while adjusting the height. Moving your body makes you both feel and work better.

Posted on Aug 21, 2023I have a TROTTEN desk and the crank handle is stuck and difficult to move. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Aug 23, 2023The most likely cause for a stuck or difficult-to-move crank handle on the TROTTEN desk is that the internal mechanism has become jammed or obstructed. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and fix this issue:
1. Check for any obstructions or debris around the crank handle and the desk frame. Gently clean the area with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt buildup.
2. Inspect the crank handle itself - ensure it is properly attached and not damaged. Try moving the handle back and forth to see if it's just stiff.
3. If the handle still doesn't move freely, the internal mechanism may need lubrication. Apply a small amount of a lightweight machine oil or silicone-based lubricant to the gears and moving parts inside the desk frame.
4. If the issue persists, the internal mechanism may be damaged and require replacement. In this case, you would need to contact IKEA customer service to obtain a replacement part and instructions for disassembly and reassembly.
With some troubleshooting and minor maintenance, you should be able to get the crank handle on your TROTTEN desk working smoothly again

Answered on Oct 26, 2022To adjust the height of your TROTTEN desk smoothly, try the following steps:
1. Ensure the desk is not overloaded. The maximum load capacity is 110 lb (50 kg). Remove any heavy items from the desktop.
2. Check if the crank handle is properly attached. Make sure it is securely clicked into place on the left or right side of the desk.
3. Try applying a small amount of WD-40 or other lubricant to the crank mechanism. This can help loosen any stuck or stiff parts.
4. Gently rock the crank handle back and forth while turning to help get it unstuck. Avoid using excessive force.
5. If the issue persists, the internal height adjustment mechanism may need servicing. You may need to contact IKEA customer support for further assistance.
