Posted on Feb 23, 2024I have the Nordviken/Rönninge table and I'm having trouble extending it. The safety fitting seems to be stuck and won't come undone. Is there a trick or method to releasing it?

Answered on Feb 25, 2024To release the stuck safety fitting on the Nordviken/Rönninge table extension leaves, try the following:
1. Make sure the table is on a level surface and the legs are firmly planted.
2. Locate the safety fitting mechanism underneath the table top, usually near the edge where the extension leaves are stored.
3. Gently but firmly pull up on the safety fitting while also pushing the extension leaf towards the center of the table. This should disengage the safety lock.
4. If it's still stuck, you can try tapping the safety fitting lightly with the palm of your hand to loosen it up.
5. Avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the mechanism. Take your time and work slowly and carefully.
If the safety fitting remains stuck after trying these steps, you may need to consult the IKEA product manual or contact their customer service for further assistance. They will be able to provide more guidance on properly releasing the extension mechanism

Posted on Jan 26, 2023I'm having trouble extending the table. The leaves won't come out from under the table top, even with the safety fitting removed. What am I doing wrong?

Answered on Jan 28, 2023To extend the NORDVIKEN / RÖNNINGE table, you'll need to first remove the safety fitting that secures the extension leaves. Once the safety fitting is removed, gently pull the leaves out from the flaps on the long sides of the table top. Make sure to pull the leaves straight out, not at an angle, to avoid any binding or difficulty. If you're still having trouble getting the leaves to come out, check that there are no obstructions underneath the table top that may be preventing the smooth extension. With a bit of care, the leaves should slide out easily. Let me know if you have any other questions
