Posted on Jul 17, 2023I have the TONSTAD storage combination with sliding doors and I'm having trouble with the shelves not staying in place. The shelves keep falling down or shifting around when I put heavy objects on them. Are there any adjustments I can make to secure the shelves better?

Answered on Jul 19, 2023The shelves on the TONSTAD storage combination should be easy to adjust and secure in place. Here are some steps you can try to stabilize the shelves:
1. Check that the shelf pins are properly inserted into the holes on the side panels. Make sure the pins are fully seated and not loose.
2. Ensure the shelves are resting evenly on the shelf pins. The shelves should sit level without any rocking or tilting.
3. If the shelves still feel unstable, you can try adding adhesive shelf supports or shelf clips to help hold the shelves in place. These can be purchased separately from IKEA.
4. Lastly, make sure you are not exceeding the maximum weight capacity of 24 lbs per shelf. Overloading the shelves can cause them to become unstable.
