Posted on Mar 10, 2024I'm having trouble assembling the cabinet as per the instructions. The wedge dowels seem to be too small for the pre-drilled holes. What's the correct way to insert them?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 12, 2024The wedge dowels are designed to be a tight fit in the pre-drilled holes, so it's normal for them to require some force to insert properly. Here are the steps to correctly install the wedge dowels:
1. Make sure the holes in the cabinet parts are completely clear of any debris or obstructions.
2. Apply a small amount of wood glue into the hole before inserting the wedge dowel.
3. Firmly press the wedge dowel into the hole, using a rubber mallet if needed to fully seat it.
4. Ensure the wedge dowel is flush with the surface of the cabinet part.
Following these steps should help the wedge dowels fit securely into the pre-drilled holes and provide a sturdy assembly. Let me know if you have any other questions
