Posted on Jun 08, 2023I'm having issues with the drawers sticking, especially when trying to open them fully. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jun 10, 2023The most likely cause of the drawers sticking is that the drawer slides are not properly lubricated. Over time, the lubricant on the drawer slides can dry out, causing the drawers to stick.
To fix this, you can try the following:
1. Fully extend the drawer and locate the drawer slides. Wipe away any dirt or debris on the slides using a clean cloth.
2. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant or furniture polish to the drawer slides. Avoid using oil-based lubricants as they can attract more dirt over time.
3. Gently close and open the drawer a few times to work the lubricant into the slides.
4. If the drawer still sticks, you may need to adjust the alignment of the drawer. Check that the drawer is properly seated in the cabinet and adjust the screws on the drawer slides as needed.
With some basic maintenance, you should be able to get the drawers operating smoothly again
