Posted on Jul 14, 2023I have a Bestå storage combination with drawers and doors, but the soft-close mechanism on the drawers is not working properly. How can I adjust or fix this issue?

Answered on Jul 16, 2023To fix the soft-close mechanism on the drawers of your BESTÅ storage combination, you can try the following:
1. Check that the drawers are properly aligned and seated in the cabinet. Ensure they are not obstructed or rubbing against the cabinet sides.
2. Locate the soft-close mechanism on the drawer slides. It is usually a small lever or clip that controls the closing motion.
3. Adjust the soft-close mechanism by gently bending or moving it slightly. This can help regulate the closing speed and force.
4. If the mechanism is damaged or worn out, you may need to replace the drawer slides entirely. Replacement slides are available from IKEA.
5. Ensure the screws holding the drawer slides to the cabinet are tight and secure. Loose screws can cause the soft-close function to malfunction.
6. As a last resort, you can disable the soft-close feature by removing or disabling the mechanism. This will allow the drawers to close normally, but without the soft-close action.

Sometimes the doors close with a slight bump, and I'd like to fine-tune the setting
