Posted on Mar 14, 2024I am having trouble opening the doors of my Besta storage combination as they seem to be stuck. Are there any specific instructions or tips on how to lubricate or adjust the hinges to make them easier to open and close?

Answered on Mar 16, 2024The hinges on your BESTÅ storage combination should allow you to adjust them to make the doors open and close more easily. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and adjust the hinges:
1. First, check if the doors are properly aligned. The hinges have adjustment screws that allow you to adjust the door position horizontally and vertically. Use a screwdriver to loosen the adjustment screws and shift the door into the correct position.
2. If the doors are still sticking, the hinges may need lubrication. Apply a small amount of silicone-based furniture polish or lubricant to the hinge points. This will help the hinges move more smoothly.
3. Check that the doors are not obstructed by anything when opening and closing. Ensure there is enough clearance around the doors for them to swing open freely.
4. As a last resort, you can replace the hinges if they are worn out. Replacement BESTÅ hinges are available from IKEA.

Posted on Dec 18, 2022I have a BESTÅ storage combination with doors and I'm having trouble closing one of the doors. The door seems to be hitting the frame, preventing it from shutting properly. Are there any adjustments I can make to the hinges or the door itself to fix this issue?

Answered on Dec 20, 2022To fix the issue with the door not closing properly, you can try adjusting the hinges on the door:
1. First, locate the hinge screws on the door. There should be 2-3 screws per hinge.
2. Using a screwdriver, slightly loosen the hinge screws, but do not remove them completely.
3. Gently push or pull the door to adjust its position so it aligns properly with the frame and can close smoothly.
4. Once the door is aligned, tighten the hinge screws back up to secure the door in place.
If adjusting the hinges doesn't resolve the issue, you can also try adjusting the leveling feet at the base of the BESTÅ unit. This can help ensure the unit is level and the doors are properly aligned.
1. Locate the leveling feet at the bottom of the BESTÅ unit.
2. Use a wrench or pliers to turn the feet, raising or lowering them as needed to level the unit.
3. Check the door alignment and continue adjusting the leveling feet until the door closes properly.
Let me know if these adjustments resolve the issue with your BESTÅ door. I'm happy to provide any other troubleshooting tips
