Posted on Feb 24, 2024I've noticed that the foil countertop has some small scratches and dents on it, is this normal or is there a way to prevent them from happening?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Feb 26, 2024The foil countertop is generally quite durable and resistant to scratches and dents, but some minor wear and tear over time is normal. Here are a few tips to help prevent and minimize scratches and dents:
- Always use cutting boards and avoid cutting directly on the surface to prevent scratches from knives.
- Wipe up spills promptly and avoid letting liquids sit on the surface for extended periods.
- Use coasters under hot pots, pans or mugs to prevent heat damage.
- Place felt pads or soft protectors under heavy objects to prevent dents.
- Avoid dragging or sliding heavy items across the surface.
- Clean the countertop regularly with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
With proper care and maintenance, you can help keep your foil countertop looking its best for many years. Let me know if you have any other questions

Answered on Jul 30, 2023To install the TOLKEN countertop, follow these steps:
1. Ensure the surface you are installing the countertop on is level and sturdy. This will help prevent any warping or uneven installation.
2. If needed, cut any holes for the sink or faucet using a jigsaw or hole saw. Make sure the measurements are accurate.
3. Apply a high-quality countertop adhesive to the surface you are installing the countertop on. This will securely bond the countertop in place.
4. Carefully place the countertop on the surface and press down firmly to adhere it. Make sure it is level and aligned properly.
5. Allow the adhesive to fully cure as per the manufacturer's instructions, typically 24-48 hours, before using the countertop.
6. Seal any cut edges with a matching color silicone sealant to protect against moisture.

Posted on Jul 12, 2023I am having some issues with my Tolken countertop, specifically the edges are starting to peel off. Can I get a replacement or repair under the 10-year limited warranty?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jul 14, 2023Based on the product description, the TOLKEN countertop comes with a 10-year limited warranty. If the edges are starting to peel off, this would likely be considered a defect covered under the warranty. To get a replacement or repair, you should contact IKEA customer service and provide details about the issue you're experiencing. They will be able to assess if the problem is covered and guide you through the warranty claim process. The warranty terms should provide more specifics on the coverage, so be sure to review that information as well. IKEA is generally very good about standing behind their products, so they should be able to resolve this issue for you
