Posted on Jul 15, 2023I love the design of this shelf unit! I've got a question about assembly. The instructions were a bit unclear and I'm having trouble getting one of the inserts to click into place. Do you have any tips or tricks for ensuring that all the pieces fit together smoothly?

Answered on Jul 17, 2023To ensure the inserts click into place smoothly, I recommend the following:
1. Double-check that you have all the necessary parts and hardware according to the assembly instructions. Missing or incorrect parts can make assembly difficult.
2. Carefully align the insert with the corresponding openings on the shelf unit. Make sure it is properly oriented before pushing it in.
3. Apply firm, even pressure when inserting the insert. It may require a bit of force to click into place, but avoid excessive force which could damage the components.
4. Ensure the surfaces where the insert connects are clean and free of obstructions. Wipe away any dust or debris that could prevent a proper fit.
5. If the insert still won't click in, try gently tapping it with the palm of your hand to seat it properly. Avoid using tools that could damage the insert or the shelf unit.
With a little patience and attention to detail, you should be able to get all the inserts installed smoothly. Let me know if you have any other questions

Posted on Nov 20, 2022I'm trying to assemble the Kallax shelf unit, but I'm having trouble with one of the inserts not fitting properly into the frame. What could be the cause and how can I fix it?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Nov 22, 2022The most common issue with the KALLAX insert not fitting properly is that the frame may not be completely square. During assembly, if the frame is not perfectly aligned, it can cause the inserts to not fit snugly.
To fix this, first ensure that the frame is level and square. You can try loosening the screws slightly, adjusting the frame, and then retightening the screws. Additionally, make sure there are no obstructions or debris preventing the insert from sliding in smoothly.
If the issue persists, you can try gently tapping the insert into place with a rubber mallet. Apply even pressure across the insert to ease it into the frame. Avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the product. If the insert still does not fit, double-check the assembly instructions and contact IKEA customer service for further assistance
