Posted on Apr 02, 2024I recently purchased the Viskafors armchair and I'm absolutely in love with it! However, I've noticed that the leather on the seat has started to crack and peel. Is this normal?
Should I be expecting this kind of wear and tear from a high-quality leather product like this one?

Answered on Apr 04, 2024The cracking and peeling of the leather on the seat of the VISKAFORS armchair is not normal and should not be expected, even with regular use. The VISKAFORS is made with quality leather that is designed to age gracefully and develop a nice patina over time.
This issue with the leather suggests there may be a defect with the product. I would recommend contacting IKEA customer service to inquire about a replacement or repair under the 10-year limited warranty. Posted on Jun 08, 2023I recently purchased the Viskafors armchair and I'm having trouble removing the seat cushion to clean underneath. Can you provide instructions on how to remove it?

Answered on Jun 10, 2023To remove the seat cushion on the VISKAFORS armchair:
1. Carefully flip the armchair over, so the bottom is facing up.
2. Locate the screws or fasteners that are holding the seat cushion in place. There may be 4-6 screws around the perimeter of the seat.
3. Using a screwdriver, slowly and gently remove each of the screws.
4. Once all the screws are removed, you can lift the seat cushion off the frame.
5. Clean the area underneath the cushion as needed.
6. To replace the cushion, simply align it back on the frame and secure it with the screws.
Take care not to force or pull the cushion excessively, as this could damage the upholstery or frame. Go slowly and be gentle when removing and replacing the seat
