Posted on Oct 28, 2023I love the unique character of natural wood and the Mörlbylånga bench is no exception! I'm interested in using it as a coffee table, but I have concerns about the finish. Is the brown stain water-resistant? Can it be refinished if needed?

Answered on Oct 30, 2023The brown stain on the MÖRBYLÅNGA bench is not water-resistant. The solid oak wood can be refinished if needed, as it can be sanded down and re-stained or oiled to restore the finish. To maintain the water-resistance of the surface, I would recommend applying a clear wood sealant or varnish after any refinishing. This will help protect the wood from moisture and spills when using it as a coffee table. With proper care and maintenance, the natural beauty of the oak wood will continue to shine through
