The upholstery of the bar stool consists of straight polyester fibres with small gaps between them, providing comfy elasticity and better ventilation so you enjoy a pleasant temperature when sitting.
The seat's bowl-shaped bottom is adapted for your sit bones and those of most of the world's population. And with an innovative technique, the seat's padding is shaped to maximize your comfort.
The backrest has a built-in lumbar support and the angle between the seat and the backrest that is optimally adapted to make it comfortable for you to sit a little longer at the table.
You decide the style of your bar stool. BERGMUND is available with white and black chair legs, and the tailor-made covers are available in many different models, colors and materials.
The cover is easy to keep clean as it is removable and can be washed.
The cover comes in one piece and fixes in place with hook-and-loop fasteners so you can easily pull it off and put it back on again.
With footrest for relaxed sitting posture.
Bar stools in the BERGMUND series offer cushiony comfort and many cover options, like this one in an elegant gray. After engaging meals and after-dinner chit-chat, it’s good to know it’s washable.

Posted on Mar 28, 2024I've been having issues with the hook-and-loop fasteners on my BERGMUND bar stool cover not staying in place. What can I do to fix this?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Mar 30, 2024The issue with the hook-and-loop fasteners not staying in place on your BERGMUND bar stool cover can be resolved by following these steps:
First, ensure that the hook-and-loop fasteners on both the cover and the seat base are clean and free of any debris. Over time, dirt and lint can build up on the fasteners, reducing their adhesive strength.
Next, try firmly pressing down on the cover when securing it in place. Make sure the hook-and-loop fasteners are properly aligned and that you apply even pressure across the entire surface to create a strong bond.
If the issue persists, you can try replacing the hook-and-loop fasteners. Replacement fasteners are available from IKEA, and they are relatively easy to install. Simply remove the old fasteners and attach the new ones, making sure they are properly aligned and secured.
Lastly, avoid frequently removing and reattaching the cover, as this can wear down the hook-and-loop fasteners over time. Try to keep the cover in place as much as possible to maintain the adhesive strength

Posted on May 01, 2023I love the design and features of this bar stool! However, I'm having some trouble with the footrest. It seems to be slightly loose and doesn't stay in place when I sit down.
Is there a way to tighten or adjust the footrest so it stays secure?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on May 03, 2023To tighten the footrest on the BERGMUND bar stool:
1. Locate the screws or bolts that attach the footrest to the seat frame. These are typically located underneath the seat.
2. Using the appropriate screwdriver or wrench, gently tighten the screws or bolts to secure the footrest in place. Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the components.
3. Once tightened, test the footrest by applying some weight and pressure to ensure it is now stable and secure.
4. If the footrest is still loose after tightening the hardware, you may need to check for any worn or damaged parts. Contact IKEA customer service if replacement parts are required.
By following these steps, you should be able to tighten and stabilize the footrest on your BERGMUND bar stool for a more secure and comfortable seating experience

Posted on Nov 12, 2022What kind of materials is the footrest made of?
Is it removable or fixed to the stool?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Nov 14, 2022The BERGMUND bar stool has a footrest, but the product description does not specify the material it is made of. The description states that the footrest is for "relaxed sitting posture", but does not indicate whether it is removable or fixed to the stool
