Posted on Jan 31, 2024I'm loving the design of this bench! I was wondering, is it possible to attach casters or wheels to the legs so that I can easily move the bench around my home? And if so, are there any specific instructions or recommendations for doing so?

Answered on Feb 02, 2024The ESSEBODA Bench is not designed to have casters or wheels attached to the legs. The bench is intended to be a stationary piece of furniture that provides storage and seating. Adding casters or wheels could compromise the stability and structural integrity of the bench. It's best to keep the bench in the intended configuration with the fixed, turned legs for optimal safety and performance. The bench is meant to be positioned and remain in one spot rather than being frequently moved around. I would not recommend attempting to add casters or wheels to this particular IKEA product

Posted on Dec 04, 2023I just got the ESSEBODA bench with storage and I love it! However, when I try to put things in the storage space, I find that the seat doesn't automatically stay up. Is there something I'm missing or is this a defect?

Answered on Dec 06, 2023The seat on the ESSEBODA bench should automatically stay in the raised position when you open the storage space underneath. This is a key feature of the design. If the seat is not staying up as it should, there may be an issue with the mechanism. Here are a few things you can try:
1. Check that the seat is properly installed and all the hardware is tightened securely. Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the seat from staying up.
2. Inspect the hinges and lifting mechanism underneath the seat. Make sure all the parts are functioning correctly and not damaged or worn out.

Answered on Aug 26, 2023To attach the legs to the ESSEBODA bench seat, follow these steps:
1. Locate the pre-drilled holes on the underside of the bench seat.
2. Position the bench legs so the screw holes align with the pre-drilled holes on the seat.
3. Insert the screws provided and tighten them securely using a screwdriver or power drill.
4. Make sure all legs are attached firmly and the bench is stable before use.

Posted on Dec 08, 2022I love the design and functionality of this bench! I was wondering if it's possible to change the cover from Knäbäck to a different fabric or color? If so, are there any specific requirements for the new fabric or can I use anything that fits the measurements?
