Posted on Feb 29, 2024I would like to know if the seat pad can be removed and washed, or is it attached permanently? Additionally, are there any screws or clips that hold the rattan frame together, which may need to be tightened over time?

Answered on Mar 02, 2024The seat pad on the NILSOVE / NORNA Chair can be removed and washed. It is not permanently attached to the chair.
Regarding the construction of the rattan frame, there are screws and clips that hold the frame together. These may need to be tightened periodically over time as the chair is used. It's a good idea to check the tightness of the screws and clips every few months to ensure the structural integrity of the chair

Posted on May 08, 2023I'm having trouble with the rattan frame of my Nilsove/Norna chair. The weave is starting to come undone in a few areas, and I'm worried it will continue to deteriorate if not addressed. Are there any recommended maintenance or repair techniques for this type of chair? Can I use a specific cleaner or oil on the rattan to help maintain its appearance and prevent further damage?

Answered on May 10, 2023To address the issue with the rattan frame on your Nilsove/Norna chair, here are some recommended maintenance and repair techniques:
First, you can try gently cleaning the rattan with a soft-bristle brush and a mild soap and water solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the rattan. After cleaning, you can apply a light coat of linseed or tung oil to help condition the rattan and prevent it from drying out and becoming brittle.
If the weave is starting to come undone in certain areas, you can try re-weaving those sections. Use a thin, flexible rattan reed or cane to carefully re-weave the loose strands back into the frame. Work slowly and be gentle to avoid further damage.
In some cases, if the damage is more extensive, you may need to have the chair professionally repaired by a rattan furniture specialist. They can assess the extent of the damage and provide the necessary repairs to restore the chair's structural integrity.
With proper care and maintenance, your Nilsove/Norna chair can continue to provide you with comfortable and stylish seating for years to come

Posted on Dec 19, 2022I'm having trouble disassembling the chair to move it. Can you please provide instructions on how to remove the seat pad and backrest from the frame?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Dec 21, 2022To remove the seat pad and backrest from the NILSOVE/NORNA chair frame:
1. Locate the screws or fasteners securing the seat pad and backrest to the frame. These are typically found underneath the seat and at the back of the chair.
2. Using the appropriate tools, such as a screwdriver, carefully remove the screws or fasteners holding the seat pad and backrest in place.
3. Gently lift the seat pad and backrest off the frame. Be careful not to damage the woven rattan or bamboo components.
4. Once the seat pad and backrest are removed, the frame can be disassembled further if needed for easier transportation.
Remember to keep track of all the screws and fasteners, as you'll need to reattach the components when reassembling the chair at its new location
