Posted on Sep 28, 2023I've been using my Poäng armchair for a while now, and I'm really happy with it. However, I noticed that the cushion is starting to lose its shape and flatten out a bit. Can I wash or dry clean the seat cushion, or should I replace it altogether? Are there any specific cleaning instructions provided by Ikea for this product?

Answered on Sep 30, 2023The POÄNG armchair cushion can be washed to help restore its shape and comfort. IKEA recommends machine washing the cushion cover on a gentle cycle using mild detergent. You can also air dry the cover to prevent it from shrinking.
If the cushion itself is losing its shape and support, it's best to replace the cushion rather than trying to clean it. Replacement cushions are available for purchase from IKEA. When selecting a new cushion, make sure to choose one that is designed for the POÄNG armchair model to ensure a proper fit.
IKEA also provides a 10-year limited warranty on the POÄNG armchair frame, so you may be able to get a replacement cushion covered under the warranty if the original one wears out prematurely. Check the warranty details for more information

Posted on May 04, 2023I recently purchased the POÄNG armchair in brown/Hillared dark blue and I love it! However, I'm having some issues with the seat cushion. The cover is starting to come undone and I'm worried about the filling coming out.
Is there a way to repair or replace the seat cushion?

Answered on May 06, 2023The seat cushion on the POÄNG armchair can be replaced if the cover is coming undone or the filling is worn out. IKEA sells replacement seat cushions for the POÄNG chair that are designed to fit the frame perfectly. You can find the replacement cushions in various colors and materials to change the look of your chair.
To replace the cushion, simply remove the old one by unfastening the velcro or zippers that attach it to the frame. Then, attach the new replacement cushion by securing it back onto the frame. Make sure it fits snugly and the cover is securely fastened. With a new cushion, your POÄNG chair will look and feel as good as new
