I have the POÄNG rocking chair with a Hillared cover in dark blue. I noticed that the fabric is starting to fray on one side of the armrest, specifically where the stitching meets the wood frame. Is there a way to repair or replace this section without voiding the 10-year guarantee?

The fabric fraying on the armrest of your POÄNG rocking chair is a common issue, but there are a few options to repair it without voiding the 10-year guarantee:

1. Try using a fabric glue or fray-check product to carefully apply a small amount to the frayed area, being careful not to get any on the wood frame. This can help stop the fraying from spreading.

2. You could also carefully hand-stitch the frayed edge back onto the wood frame using a needle and matching thread. Take care not to pull the stitches too tight.

3. As a more permanent solution, you may be able to purchase a replacement armrest cover from IKEA and swap it out yourself. This would involve removing the existing cover, but should not impact the warranty.

I'd recommend trying the glue or stitching first, as those are the simplest fixes. Let me know if you have any other questions

I would like to ask, how do I clean the Hillared cover? Can it be washed or only spot cleaned? And also, are there any specific cleaning products recommended for this type of fabric?

The Hillared cover on the POÄNG rocking chair can be machine washed. IKEA recommends washing the cover at a maximum temperature of 104°F (40°C) using a mild detergent. The cover can also be tumble dried on a low heat setting.

For spot cleaning, you can use a damp cloth and mild soap or detergent. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents as they may damage the fabric. IKEA does not recommend any specific cleaning products for the Hillared fabric, but a gentle, water-based upholstery cleaner should work well
