Posted on Jun 16, 2023I've had my Poäng rocking chair for a few years now and I'm experiencing some issues with the cushion. The fabric seems to be pilling and losing its softness. Is there a specific cleaning method recommended by Ikea or any other tips you can share to keep the fabric looking its best?

Answered on Jun 18, 2023To help maintain the fabric on your POÄNG rocking chair cushion, IKEA recommends the following:
Vacuum the cushion regularly to remove dirt and dust. You can also use a soft brush attachment to gently brush the fabric.
For deeper cleaning, you can spot clean the cushion using a mild soap and water solution. Avoid over-wetting the fabric. Blot the area with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
To help prevent pilling, you can use a fabric shaver or pill remover to carefully remove any built-up fuzz or pills on the surface of the fabric. Be gentle to avoid damaging the fibers.
Lastly, rotate and flip the cushion regularly to distribute wear and tear evenly. This will help extend the life of the fabric.
With proper care, you can keep your POÄNG rocking chair cushion looking its best for many years to come

Posted on Aug 05, 2022I've been enjoying my Poäng rocking chair for some time now, but I'm having trouble getting the rocking motion to stop. The chair will keep rocking back and forth even when I'm not actively pushing it. Is there a way to adjust or fix this issue?

Answered on Aug 07, 2022To stop the rocking motion on your POÄNG rocking chair, you can try the following:
1. Check the floor surface - Make sure the chair is placed on a level, even floor. Uneven floors can cause the rocking motion to continue even when not in use.
2. Adjust the leg levelers - Locate the leg levelers under the chair and turn them clockwise to lower the legs and stabilize the chair.
3. Tighten the screws - Inspect all the screws and bolts on the chair frame and tighten any that are loose. This will help prevent any movement in the chair's structure.
4. Add furniture pads - Place small furniture pads or felt protectors under the chair legs to create more friction and stop the rocking.
Try these steps one by one until you are able to stop the unwanted rocking motion. Let me know if the issue persists and we can look into further troubleshooting
