The safety casters have a pressure-sensitive brake mechanism that keeps the chair in place when you stand up, and releases automatically when you sit down.
You sit comfortably since the chair is adjustable in height.
Easy to keep clean by just wiping with a damp cloth.
Sit comfortably in this padded work chair where you easily adjust the height with the handle. The castors have a braking mechanism that prevents the chair from rolling away when you get up.

Posted on Mar 18, 2024I have a LOBERGET/MALSKÄR swivel chair with the pressure-sensitive brake mechanism on the casters, but sometimes it doesn't release properly when I sit down and I need to push the chair gently to get it moving again. Is there a trick or a way to adjust this mechanism to make it work smoothly every time?

Answered on Mar 20, 2024The pressure-sensitive brake mechanism on the casters of your LOBERGET/MALSKÄR swivel chair should work smoothly every time. To ensure it's functioning properly, you can try the following:
First, check that the casters are clean and free of any debris that could be interfering with the braking mechanism. Wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or dust buildup.
Next, try adjusting the tension of the brake mechanism. There may be a small screw or lever on the caster that allows you to tighten or loosen the brake. Adjust it gradually until the brakes engage and release properly when you sit down and stand up.
If the issue persists, the brake mechanism may need to be replaced. You can contact IKEA customer service to inquire about replacement parts or schedule a repair. They should be able to provide guidance on properly maintaining and adjusting the brakes on your chair
