Doors both protect and decorate - choose a door that matches well with your home and storage combination.
Hide or display your things by combining open and closed storage.
The shelves are adjustable so you can customize your storage as needed.
You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.
Adjustable hinges allow you to adjust the door horizontally and vertically.
Optimize and organize your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.
Things that tend to get cluttered can be placed out of sight while your favorite objects can be showcased on open shelves. This storage-and-display solution is practical and tells a story about yourself.

Posted on Nov 19, 2023I'm trying to assemble the Bestå storage combination and I've run into a problem. The hinges don't seem to be aligned properly, which is making it difficult to attach the doors. Are there any specific instructions or tips that you can provide to help me get them aligned correctly?

Answered on Nov 21, 2023To align the hinges on your BESTÅ storage combination properly, here are some tips:
1. Make sure the cabinet frame is securely attached to the wall as per the instructions. This will provide a stable base for the hinges.
2. Double-check that the hinge mounting plates are properly installed on the cabinet frame. They should be level and aligned.
3. When attaching the doors, start by loosely screwing in the hinges. This will allow you to make adjustments as needed.
4. Once the doors are in place, you can use the adjustment screws on the hinges to fine-tune the alignment. Turn the screws clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the door horizontally, vertically, and in depth.
5. Keep testing the door opening and closing, and make small adjustments until the doors are perfectly aligned and operate smoothly.
6. Once satisfied, fully tighten all the hinge screws to secure the doors in place.
Take your time and make small, incremental adjustments. With a little patience, you should be able to get those hinges perfectly aligned

Answered on Mar 29, 2023To adjust the shelves in your BESTÅ storage combination with doors:
1. Open the doors to access the shelves.
2. Locate the shelf pins that are holding the shelves in place.
3. Gently lift up on the shelf to release it from the pins.
4. Reposition the shelf pins to the desired height.
5. Lower the shelf back down onto the pins.
6. Ensure the shelf is securely in place.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for any other shelves you wish to adjust.
The adjustable shelves allow you to customize the storage to fit your needs. Make sure to evenly distribute the weight on the shelves, not exceeding the maximum load of 44 lbs per shelf

Posted on Jul 09, 2022I just assembled my Besta storage unit and I noticed that the doors do not close properly. The gap between the door and the frame is quite large, which makes it difficult to shut them completely. What could be the cause of this issue? Is there a way to adjust or fix this problem?

Answered on Jul 11, 2022The issue with the doors not closing properly and having a large gap between the door and the frame is likely due to the hinges not being properly adjusted. The BESTÅ storage unit has adjustable hinges that allow you to adjust the doors horizontally and vertically.
To fix this problem, you can try the following steps:
1. Loosen the screws on the hinges slightly, but do not remove them completely.
2. Gently push the door inward or outward to adjust the gap between the door and the frame.
3. Once the gap is reduced and the door is aligned properly, tighten the screws on the hinges to secure the door in place.
If the adjustment doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to check if the hinges are installed correctly or if there is any damage to the hinges or the cabinet frame. In that case, you may need to replace the hinges or contact IKEA for further assistance
