Posted on Nov 08, 2023I'm having trouble installing the Högbo glass doors. The door hinges feel a bit loose and the doors don't stay closed properly. Are there any adjustments I can make to tighten the hinges or is this normal?

Posted on Sep 23, 2023I've assembled the Billy bookcase with Högbo glass doors and I'm happy with it so far. However, after a few months of use, some of the shelves started to sag under the weight of books. Is there any way to adjust or reinforce the shelves without having to disassemble the entire unit?

Answered on Sep 25, 2023To address the sagging shelves on your BILLY / HÖGBO bookcase, you can try the following:
1. Adjust the shelf pins: The shelves are supported by adjustable shelf pins. Try gently pushing up on the sagging shelf to see if you can reposition the shelf pins to provide more support.
2. Add shelf reinforcements: You can purchase additional shelf reinforcement brackets from IKEA. These brackets attach underneath the shelves to help distribute the weight and prevent sagging.
3. Flip the shelves over: Another option is to flip the sagging shelves over. This will allow you to utilize the stronger underside of the shelf to support the weight.
4. Reduce the weight: If possible, try to redistribute the weight on the sagging shelves by removing some of the heavier items or spreading them out across multiple shelves.
The key is to make adjustments without having to disassemble the entire unit. Start with the simpler solutions first before considering more extensive modifications. Let me know if you have any other questions
