Posted on Feb 06, 2023I am trying to install the EKET shelving unit on a plaster wall. The instructions say to screw into pre-drilled holes, but my wall does not have these holes. What is the recommended method for installing the shelf on a plaster wall?

Answered on Feb 08, 2023To install the EKET shelving unit on a plaster wall without pre-drilled holes, the recommended method is to use wall anchors. Here are the steps:
1. Locate the wall studs using a stud finder. Try to position the shelving unit so that at least one of the mounting points aligns with a wall stud.
2. For the mounting points that do not align with studs, drill pilot holes slightly smaller than the diameter of your wall anchors.
3. Insert the wall anchors into the pilot holes and gently tap them in until flush with the wall surface.
4. Align the shelving unit and secure it to the wall by screwing directly into the wall anchors.
5. For the mounting points that align with wall studs, you can screw directly into the studs without the need for wall anchors.
This method will provide a secure and stable installation of the EKET shelving unit on your plaster wall. Let me know if you have any other questions

Answered on Dec 02, 2022The issue with the dowel not fitting into the pre-drilled holes is likely due to the holes not being properly aligned. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:
1. Double-check that you have all the necessary parts and that they are the correct ones for the EKET shelving unit.
2. Ensure the panels are positioned correctly according to the assembly instructions. The pre-drilled holes need to be properly aligned for the dowels to fit.
3. Try gently tapping the dowel into the hole using a rubber mallet or a piece of wood. Avoid using excessive force, as this could damage the components.
4. If the dowel still doesn't fit, inspect the holes to make sure they are not obstructed or damaged. You may need to slightly enlarge the holes using a drill bit of the appropriate size.
5. Ensure all the panels are level and square before attempting to insert the dowels. This will help the holes align properly.
