I'm having trouble opening the Mörtvik door. The handle is stuck and it won't budge. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The issue with the stuck handle on the MÖRTVIKEN door is likely due to a few possible causes:

1. The hinges may be misaligned or not properly installed. Try adjusting the hinges to ensure the door is hanging correctly and the handle can move freely.

2. There could be debris or buildup preventing the handle from turning. Inspect the handle mechanism and clean out any dirt or obstructions.

3. The handle itself may be damaged or worn out. In this case, you may need to replace the handle assembly to restore smooth operation.

To fix the issue, I'd recommend first trying to adjust the hinges. If that doesn't resolve it, then carefully inspect the handle mechanism and clean out any debris. If the handle is still stuck, you may need to replace the handle component. Refer to the IKEA assembly instructions for guidance on properly reinstalling or replacing the handle

I purchased the MORTVIKEN door, but I'm having trouble installing it. The screw holes don't seem to match my wall. Can you provide instructions or guidance on how to adjust the screws or attach the door to a different type of wall?

The MÖRTVIKEN door is designed to be mounted on walls using the pre-drilled screw holes. If the screw holes do not align with the studs or anchors in your wall, you may need to drill new holes to securely attach the door. Here are some tips:

- Use a stud finder to locate the wall studs and mark their positions. Try to align the door's screw holes with the stud locations if possible.

- If the screw holes don't line up with the studs, you'll need to use wall anchors. Drill holes in the wall slightly smaller than the diameter of the anchors, then insert the anchors and secure the door to them.

- Alternatively, you can mark new hole locations on the door frame that better match your wall, then drill new holes to mount it. Be sure to measure carefully to keep the door level and aligned properly.

- Consult the instruction manual for any specific mounting guidance. You may also want to contact IKEA customer service if you need further assistance.

The key is finding a secure way to attach the door to your wall type, even if the pre-drilled holes don't line up perfectly. With some adjustments, you should be able to get the MÖRTVIKEN door installed successfully
