Posted on Apr 24, 2023I've assembled the Billy bookcase, but I'm having trouble getting the doors to stay open. The hinges feel a bit loose and keep closing on their own. Is there a way to tighten them or is it just a design issue?

Answered on Apr 26, 2023The issue with the doors closing on their own is likely due to the adjustable hinges not being properly tightened. To fix this:
1. Locate the screws on the hinges that connect the door to the bookcase frame.
2. Using a screwdriver, gently tighten these screws to secure the hinges in place.
3. Test the door to ensure it stays open as desired. You may need to make minor adjustments by loosening or tightening the screws further.
If the issue persists after tightening the hinges, there could be an issue with the door alignment. You can try adjusting the hinges horizontally and vertically to get the door positioned correctly. Refer to the assembly instructions for guidance on properly adjusting the hinges
