I am having trouble with the doors not closing properly. They are a bit stubborn and don't shut all the way.
Is there any adjustment that I can make to fix this issue?

To fix the issue with the doors not closing properly, you can try adjusting the hinges. First, locate the two screws on each hinge that allow you to adjust the door position. Gently loosen these screws, then close the door and check if it's aligned properly. If not, you can adjust the door by moving it slightly left or right, up or down, until it closes smoothly. Once the door is aligned, tighten the hinge screws back up to secure the adjustment. If the doors still don't close fully, you may need to check if the shelves or other interior fittings are obstructing the door's movement, and make any necessary adjustments there as well

I have the BESTÅ shelf unit with doors and I love it! However, I'm having some trouble with the soft-closing function. Sometimes the doors don't close all the way or get stuck halfway. Have you experienced this issue before? Is there a trick to getting them to close smoothly every time?

The soft-closing issue you're experiencing with your BESTÅ shelf unit is a common problem, but there are a few things you can try to fix it:

First, check that the hinges are properly aligned and tightened. Over time, the hinges can become loose, causing the doors to not close properly. Tighten the hinge screws using a screwdriver.

Next, look at the soft-closing mechanism itself. There may be some dirt or debris interfering with the smooth operation. Try cleaning the mechanism with a soft cloth. You can also try applying a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the moving parts.

If the issue persists, the soft-closing mechanism may need to be adjusted or replaced. You can find adjustment instructions in the BESTÅ product manual or on the IKEA website. As a last resort, you can contact IKEA customer service for further assistance.

With a little troubleshooting, you should be able to get your BESTÅ doors closing smoothly again

I have a Besta shelf unit with doors and I'd like to know if it's possible to replace the soft-closing function with something else.
Is there an option to remove or disable this feature?

The soft-closing function on the BESTÅ shelf unit with doors can be disabled or removed. To do this:

1. Open the door fully to access the hinges.
2. Locate the small lever or switch on the hinge that controls the soft-closing mechanism.
3. Flip or slide this lever to the "off" position to disengage the soft-close feature.

Once disabled, the door will no longer have the soft-closing function and will close normally without the gentle, damped motion. This allows you to open and close the door without the soft-close mechanism if desired
