Posted on Feb 23, 2023I'm having some trouble with the glass shelves - they seem to be slightly warped or uneven, causing the items on them to slide forward when I try to adjust the shelf height. Is there a way to straighten out the shelves or is this a manufacturing defect?

Answered on Feb 25, 2023The uneven or warped glass shelves are likely not a manufacturing defect, but rather an adjustment issue. The BESTÅ storage combination has adjustable glass shelves, which can sometimes become misaligned over time or with repeated adjustments.
To straighten out the shelves, you can try the following:
1. Remove the glass shelf that is uneven.
2. Locate the shelf supports on the side panels. These are the small plastic or metal clips that hold the shelf in place.
3. Gently adjust the shelf supports up or down to level the shelf.
4. Replace the glass shelf and check if it is now even.
5. Repeat this process for any other uneven shelves.
If the shelf supports are not adjustable or you are still unable to level the shelves, you may need to contact IKEA for a replacement glass shelf. Proper adjustment of the shelf supports should resolve the issue in most cases

Answered on Jan 13, 2023Based on the product description, you should be able to add an additional glass shelf on top of the BESTÅ storage unit. The unit has an overall height of 76" (193 cm), which should provide enough clearance for an extra shelf.
To secure the additional shelf, you can use the adjustable shelf pins that come with the BESTÅ system. These pins fit into the pre-drilled holes along the sides of the unit, allowing you to position the shelf at the desired height. No additional screws or brackets are required.
Just make sure the weight of the items placed on the extra shelf does not exceed the maximum load capacity of 44 lb (20 kg) per shelf. This will ensure the shelf is safely supported without any issues
