Posted on Sep 09, 2023I have a Besta storage unit with glass doors and I'm having trouble with the soft-close mechanism. The door is not closing properly, it's sticking or not shutting all the way. What could be causing this issue and how can I fix it?

2. Buildup of debris - Over time, small bits of dust or debris can accumulate in the soft-close mechanism, interfering with its operation. Try cleaning out the hinges and mechanism using a small brush or compressed air.
3. Wear and tear - If the BESTÅ unit is several years old, the soft-close mechanism may simply be worn out and in need of replacement. You can purchase replacement soft-close hinges from IKEA to resolve this.

Posted on Jul 13, 2023I'm considering purchasing the BESTÅ storage combination with glass doors, but I have a few questions before making a decision. Can you confirm if the adjustable hinges are only for horizontal and vertical adjustment, or can they be adjusted in terms of angle as well?
Additionally, are the soft-closing hinges compatible with the push-open function, or do they need to be used separately?

Answered on Jul 15, 2023The adjustable hinges on the BESTÅ storage combination with glass doors allow for horizontal and vertical adjustment, but not angle adjustment. The soft-closing hinges and push-open function are mutually exclusive - you cannot use both on the same door. You would need to choose either the soft-closing hinges or the push-open function when installing the doors
