BESTÅ TV bench with doors, white Björköviken/birch veneer, 70 7/8x16 1/2x15 "
Article number: 795.680.42
BJÖRKÖVIKEN front is made of birch veneer, giving each door a sense of quality with a natural expression.
A wall-mounted TV unit creates a clean, airy look and there are no legs that get in the way when you vacuum the floor.
It’s easy to keep the cords from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cord outlets at the back of the TV bench.
The cable outlet at the top lets cords run down smoothly into the TV bench.
The shelves are adjustable so you can customize your storage as needed.
You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.
Optimize and organize your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.

Posted on Jan 07, 2024I would like to install the BESTÅ TV bench with doors, but I'm having trouble finding a suitable location on the wall. Can you provide some general guidelines or recommendations for determining the correct stud placement and installation height?
Kenzo @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Jan 09, 2024To determine the correct stud placement and installation height for the BESTÅ TV bench:
1. Locate the wall studs where you plan to mount the TV bench. Use a stud finder to identify the stud locations.
2. The TV bench should be mounted securely into the wall studs to support the weight of the TV and other items stored inside. Position the mounting brackets so they align with the wall studs.
3. Measure the desired height for the TV bench. IKEA recommends positioning the top of the TV bench 15-30 inches above the floor for comfortable viewing. Consider the height of your TV and seating arrangement when determining the ideal placement.
4. Use a level to mark the mounting bracket locations on the wall, ensuring they are level and aligned with the wall studs. Pre-drill pilot holes before securing the mounting brackets to the wall.
5. Lift the TV bench into place, aligning it with the mounted brackets. Secure the bench to the brackets according to the assembly instructions.
6. Once installed, you can adjust the shelf heights as needed to accommodate your TV and other storage requirements.

Posted on Apr 01, 2023I love the design of this TV bench, but I'm having some trouble with the soft-closing function. The doors don't close properly and sometimes get stuck. Is there a way to adjust or fix this issue?
Alice @ EasyRebuild
Answered on Apr 03, 2023The issue with the soft-closing function on your BESTÅ TV bench is likely due to the hinges being out of adjustment. Here are the steps to fix it:
1. First, open the doors fully to access the hinges.
2. Locate the adjustment screws on the hinges. There are usually two screws per hinge.
3. Using a screwdriver, turn the adjustment screws clockwise to tighten the hinges and increase the closing force. Turn them slowly, a little at a time, until the doors close properly without sticking.
4. Test the doors to ensure they are closing smoothly and softly. You may need to make minor adjustments to the screws to get the perfect closing action.
If the issue persists after adjusting the hinges, it's possible the soft-closing mechanism itself may be faulty and require replacement. In that case, you would need to contact IKEA customer service for further assistance
