1. Double-check that you're aligning the dowel correctly with the hole. The dowel should fit snugly into the hole without excessive force.
2. Make sure the hole is free of any debris or obstructions that could be preventing the dowel from seating properly.
3. Apply a small amount of wood glue into the hole before inserting the dowel. This can help it grip securely.
4. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the dowel into place, being careful not to damage the surrounding material.
5. If the dowel still won't click in, you may need to slightly enlarge the pre-drilled hole using a drill bit of the appropriate size.

However, I have a question about the assembly process. The instructions seem a bit unclear - could you provide more detailed steps on how to attach the wedge dowel to the pre-drilled holes?

Answered on Jul 03, 2022To attach the wedge dowel to the pre-drilled holes, follow these steps:
1. Locate the pre-drilled holes on the back of the EKET units.
2. Align the pointed end of the wedge dowel with the pre-drilled hole.
3. Gently tap the wedge dowel into the hole using a rubber mallet or the palm of your hand. Make sure it clicks into place securely.
For wall mounting, IKEA provides wall anchors and screws specifically designed for the EKET series. These are included in the hardware pack that comes with the product. Use these wall anchors and screws to securely attach the EKET units to the wall.
If you prefer to use your own wall anchors and screws, make sure they are rated for the weight of the fully loaded EKET units. This will ensure a sturdy and safe wall-mounted installation.
