I just got the NYHAMN foam mattress, but it's a bit too firm for my liking. Are there any tips on how to soften it up a bit without damaging the material?

How do I clean the foam of the NYHAMN mattress? The removable cover can be machine washed, but what about stains on the foam itself? Can it be spot cleaned or does it require professional cleaning?
